Who is Dylan Dog?

Dylan Dog is a long running Italian comic strip, about a Supernatural Investigator (Indagatore dell’incubo – Nightmare Investigator) living and working in a horror infused world of London.

The comic was created by Tiziano Sclavi and has been running since 1986.  The character was initially drawn to look like the English Actor: Rupert Everett, with his name inspired by the Famous Welsh Poet: Dylan Thomas (known for “Under Milk Wood” and amongst others, a collection of short stories titled “Portrait of the Artist of a Young Dog” – which is possibly where the inspiration for his last name is taken too). Continuing the summer food posts, everyone thinks about  Gelato and Granita during summer but they are not the only food to enjoy in summer in Italy.  Fontina Cheese (La Fontina formaggio) is a cow’s milk cheese where, although obtained all year round, the best is produced during the summer when the cows are allowed to graze at a higher altitude in the mountains. Milano Expo 2015

This year is the turn of Milan to host the Universal Exposition.  This is the second time that Milan has hosted the Expo (first in 1906) and the first Expo since 2012.

For tonight and tomorrow, a Television movie, L’Oriana, about the life of Oriana Fallaci will be transmitted.  Oriana Fallaci will be portrayed by the Tuscan Actress Vittoria Puccini.  The film is titled with ” L’ ” before her name as it is common in Tuscany to place an article before feminine names, this gives her the attachment to her land.
